What is goal setting and why is it important?
Goals are things that you set out to achieve that are important to your life. Setting goals is important because it allows you to focus on what’s most important to you right now. This can be very helpful when you have a lot of responsibilities.
It also helps you know what needs to get done before you can relax.
Goal setting is an important part of personal growth and development.
Goal setting is an important part of growth and development because it encourages people to want more. If you are achieving your goals, then it will give you a sense of accomplishment.
When people have something to work towards, they are more likely to put in the effort. Setting goals can also help you keep focused on what you want out of life. You will be able to visualize what your future self looks like if you make the necessary changes today.
A goal doesn’t have to be a huge, world-changing event. It could simply be something that would make you feel better about yourself or your life. Setting goals will help you have a clear plan of action. It will also help if things get tough.
It’s impossible to fully achieve any goal without first making it concrete by writing down your intentions.
You can also do this in your head. Think about what you want to happen and then think about the steps needed to make that happen. Then set a timeline for it.
How and Why Goal Setting Works?
Goal setting is a great way to get things done. It helps you keep your priorities in order and it motivates you to complete those goals. It’s important to be specific about what you want.
For example, “build a deck in my backyard” is too broad of a goal. Instead, specify how big the deck would be, and how many people you’ll need to help you build it.
Setting goals is most effective when you write them down and are very specific. However, if they’re too vague or don’t seem like a challenge then you can become unmotivated quite easily.
For example, writing down that I want to “get in shape” or “lose weight” is too broad. It’ll less likely lead to success unless I make it more specific. So, instead, I’ll write, “lose 15lbs in 3 months”.
It’s important to be specific about what you want by writing down clear goals with deadlines for each one. This gives you a better idea of what to work on and how long it will take you. A strategy like this increases your chances of success.
What are the principles and techniques of goal setting?
To set a goal, you need to make it small enough to be achievable. You also need to have a deadline for when you want your goal to be completed. If something is hard, make the deadline earlier.
List the benefits of having your goal met and list any obstacles that might stand in your way. Set interim target dates by making deadlines shorter as time goes on if needed.
Let’s dig a little further into these principles & techniques so that it becomes more clear – remember, knowledge is power!
Principle #1: Commitment
The dictionary defines commitment as the act of binding oneself by contract or other formal agreement. It’s also defined as one’s willingness to follow through on promises, obligations, etc.
To reach your goal, you need to be committed. Without commitment, you will not know if you can do it.
Commitment is about putting your best effort into something to eventually see success.
Committing to a goal can be hard. But it does not have to be if you do it right with the right intention and determination!
Principle #2: Feedback
“If you don’t know where you’re going, then how do you know when you get there?”-Unknown
Everyone has goals and dreams that they want to achieve. Without feedback, it can be difficult to make sure we are making progress towards those goals as time goes on.
It’s important as we work each day to celebrate our successes. As well as learn from our failures so we can continue moving forward towards those goals.
When trying to achieve your goal, it’s important not only to know what went wrong but what went well too. This is because the more information a person knows about themselves, the better they’ll be at achieving their goal!
People may have a bad opinion of themselves because of mistakes they made in the past. This can make them think that nothing good will happen to them.
Principle #3: Challenging
Goals that challenge you are great at motivating you to work hard. They push you to go beyond what you think is possible. You can make your goals more challenging by demanding more of yourself.
This entails establishing a goal that you are confident you can achieve. To do so, look for an example of someone who pushes themselves and then base your goal on their accomplishments.
One way to do this is by reading stories about people who have achieved your goal. The more you know, the better able you are to understand what it takes to accomplish your goal.
Start by making a list of the skills that they have and then see which ones can work for you. This is a surprisingly effective strategy for learning what you need to do in order to be successful.
Principle #4: Task complexity
One of the most difficult challenges in setting goals is knowing what “level” the goal should be set on. Different tasks call for different levels of effort and commitment. This can make it very difficult to know where to start.
The first step may be breaking your goal down into smaller parts. Then, you’ll need to know how much work each part requires. Finally, you’ll tackle each part until you’ve reached your goal.
This might sound like more work, but it can help with your decision-making process. You’ll know what you need to do before you can finish your goal.
Principle #5: Clarity
Setting clear goals will make it much easier to figure out what your time is being spent on. You should set SMART goals, which are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound.
Don’t just say that you want to write a blog post this week. Instead, be specific. Set a goal to write one on Monday and another on Friday.
Saying that you’ll be more productive at work next month is too broad. Instead, commit to sending two emails every day until the end of next week.
Once you’ve set a clear goal, it becomes much easier to figure out what your time is being spent on. And whether or not that particular activity will help you achieve your goal.
If an activity won’t help you reach your goal, then it shouldn’t be a part of your schedule. It all comes down to your level of commitment to achieving your goals.
What are some goals to be successful?
There are all sorts of goals that you can pursue that will lead you down the path to success. There are career goals, financial goals, business goals, and so on.
To be successful, you must figure out what it is that drives you towards success. Once you do this, then setting a goal to achieve those things becomes much easier. Sometimes you can even find that your goals are interconnected.
For example, if one of your health goals is to lose weight and gain muscle mass. It would be beneficial for you to set career or business-related financial goals as well.
This will help make it more possible for you to afford the equipment and food you’ll need.
You may be wondering exactly what goal setting like for certain types of goals. So, let’s dig into some of these and see what the goal achievement process is like. We’ll then see what accomplishing these goals can ultimately lead to.
I’ve had a lot of difficulty in the past with setting and achieving career goals. When I set out to accomplish difficult tasks, I found myself quitting when things got tough. What I eventually figured out is that there are two types of tasks – building skills and attaining skills.
Building my skills can be done with little effort or time, which was what I realized before. These are the small, specific tasks that you will need for your future careers.
Attaining skills are much more difficult because they require discipline and effort. The good news, however, is you’ll most likely enjoy this part of the process more. That’s because it’ll probably be more fun for you.
And since these tasks are usually more involved, it usually has a higher impact on your future happiness and success.
It’s important to balance both so you don’t spend all your time doing one kind of task. You’ll want to evenly distribute your time between easy and more difficult tasks.
Once I realized the difference between building skills and attaining skills, I became much more productive at achieving my goals. Especially in today’s world where we have immediate access to online learning platforms. The kinds of skills you can learn to build are endless.
So if I were you, I would totally take advantage of online learning. Use it to help you achieve goals you didn’t think were possible.
Achieving goals will most definitely give you a boost in self-esteem which will also help you in pursuing further goals.
You may be asking yourself, “How much money should I save?” The point here is to know how much money you need to save in order to reach your goal.
The goal, may be saving enough for a down payment for a house. Or it could be saving up enough money to retire.
Once you know what your goal is, then you can decide how much money you need. From there, you can figure out the rate of savings that is needed in order to meet your goal.
Let’s say you’re saving up for a house. Your goal could be to save $100k. That would make the rate of savings be $835/month for 10 years.
Why saving money is super important
- An emergency fund means that when life throws a curveball, you can deal with it.
- If you want to retire, you will need a lot of money saved up. Having this money gives peace of mind because it will be there when you need it. Things can change in many years so it is important to be able to change your plans if needed.
- If you want to buy a house, then you will need to have the money saved before buying. That way, when negotiating with the seller, they know that you have the money from your savings available at closing.
Setting financial goals is a must-do for everyone. Let’s face it, money makes the world go round whether we like it or not. That’s why it’s important to make goal setting a habit. Master it so that you can continue to achieve goals throughout your life.
Each time you achieve your goals, it’ll be easier to do the next one. You’ll start to feel better about yourself and the world around you. The more goals you achieve, the happier you’ll be!
One goal that many people have is to achieve a healthier lifestyle. This goal can be achieved through goal setting and planning. When you set goals like this, it is important to consider your end goal of living a healthier lifestyle.
The next step is to break the goal into small steps with specific deadlines. The deadline for each part of the goal should be clear.
For example: if our goal was to get in shape in the next six months.
We can divide our goal into smaller goals. For example, we could cut out soda from our diet, and eat more fruits and vegetables. We could also exercise for at least 30 minutes three times a week.
Break your goal into small steps with deadlines. This way, you are less likely to get off track or procrastinate.
Personal goals are as varied as there are people in the world. Everyone has their own personal goals. They might want to do something like learn how to dance or they might want to go on an adventure.
There are some people who would like to climb Mount Everest. Others might just want to create the world’s best apple pie recipe.
There is absolutely no wrong choice when deciding on a personal goal; however, it does require determination and perseverance in order to accomplish one’s goals.
When creating your own list of personal goals, it is important to set a standard for yourself. This can be done by asking yourself what would happen if you were unable to accomplish that goal?
Would your life change in an irreversible way or would it really make much of a difference at all?
Create a list for your personal goals
There are different ways one could go about setting personal goals. One of the most common ones is to create a list. This can be done by starting out with one main goal.
You then break it down into smaller goals that will need to be accomplished first. The completion of these smaller goals leads to the main goal being achieved.
For example, if someone’s lifelong dream was to become an astronaut, they’ll need to break that down into smaller goals. Goals such as taking an advanced mathematics class or joining a local astronomy club.
In the end, a list will help you achieve your goal. It can also make accomplishing bigger goals feel more achievable.
Do you own a business or thinking of starting one? If so, the following set of goals are highly recommended for your future success:
- Doing things that are different than what is currently being done in the market
- Providing a better service or product than what other companies offer
- Master customer service
Let’s look into each one of these a little deeper:
- “Doing things that are different than what is currently being done in the market”
This business goal allows you to take an idea, product, or service and present it in a unique way. People sometimes see something as normal because they have been seeing it over and over again for years.
There isn’t much thought given to how this look, feel, or function has come to be. You can be different and interesting by changing the way you present things.
- “Providing a better service or product than what other companies offer”
This business goal can be achieved by constantly striving to improve upon the product or service that you are offering. Constantly re-evaluate the process of how your business works and look for ways to improve it.
By doing so, you can ensure that you will always be one step ahead of other businesses in your industry.
If you want your company to grow, you need to set goals. This way, you know what needs to be done and can take the right actions for success. When done right, business goals can push companies to new heights and allow them to become market leaders.
- “Master customer service”
This is one of the most important business goals you can strive for. If you do not provide good customer service, then it will not matter what else happens. Your customers will leave and go to another company.
When done right, customer service can help differentiate a company and keep it competitive despite its size or industry type. By constantly striving to provide the best customer service, you can help your company stand out and stay in business.
Goals and habits are related. When goal setting, you need to keep working on it every day to achieve your goal. The objective is to reach your ultimate goal, and the habits are what you must perform on a daily basis.
I’ll provide an example to better illustrate this. Say you want to lose 20 pounds. It’s a goal that you’re going to take a long time to achieve, and goal-setting is a long-term strategy.
If you want to lose 20 pounds, you need to make changes in your daily habits. You will need to limit the amount of food that you eat and get exercise every day.
How motivation helps in achieving goals
You need to be motivated in order to reach your goals. If you are not motivated, you might not try hard enough and won’t meet your goals.
Motivation can come from setting goals. By creating a goal and visualizing it, you are more motivated to see your goal through.
A person can do what they set out to do in their mind before they actually take action. That helps them complete the goal that is being sought after.
It also comes from understanding why you want to do this. This is called intrinsic motivation, where people are driven by factors inside of themselves and not external forces.
If you know what you want, you’ll find your way around any obstacle that comes between you and your goal. This kind of motivation is a great way to keep yourself going when you have a goal in mind.
How does setting goals lead to success?
Setting goals can lead to success because there are certain things in life that require goal setting. For example, goal setting helps people because they would know what they want to achieve.
Goal setting also sets you on the correct path in life. This includes determining which priorities you should set when it comes to your career, finances, and family.
Lastly, goal setting helps you be more productive; goal setters are more likely to follow through with what they started because their goal pushes them.
Goal setting is very important and it leads people to success. That’s why many successful individuals use goal setting as a tool in life.
What are the benefits of goal setting?
Goal setting as a habit can lead to improved life satisfaction, improved mental health, and improved physical health.
In addition, goal setting as a habit has been found to have great benefits. These benefits result in higher rates of job performance and higher rates of productivity.
Goal setting can lead to a brighter future for yourself and those around you. With the right mindset, goal setting is something that anyone will be able to do.
People who are happy with their lives are more likely to work hard and make their goals come true. It is important for people to be happy in life.
Those who are mentally healthy are better at achieving their goals. They take steps to reach them instead of avoiding them or neglecting them.
You too could become someone who sets challenging yet achievable milestones if you make self-improvement one of your main priorities!
How do I measure my goals?
One of the most important aspects of achieving goals is measuring and evaluating them. When you measure and evaluate your goals, you can see what steps to take to achieve them.
Are you on track with your priorities?
Many of us spend our days in a cycle of waiting and having regrets. We either do not make progress on important tasks or we become frustrated when we set and miss deadlines.
A way out is to focus your attention on narrowing your bandwidth. Not by multitasking or switching back and forth between tasks. But by focusing on the next most important task in front of you.
Instead of thinking about what to do, try doing something. Choose a task and set a time to work on it. Prioritize your to-do list with the most important items first.
If you find that your thoughts start to wander, try to work on something. That will keep you going in the direction of your goals.
Work to maintain momentum by using milestones and accountability.
Are you getting closer to reaching this goal?
Let’s say I have a goal to get better at guitar. There would be a few indicators that I’m getting closer to my goal. One of the most obvious is my skill progression. If I’m able to play a song that I wasn’t able to before, then that means I’m improving.
If you want to get better at something, keep practicing. Setting more challenging goals will help you. Keep track of how you’re doing by keeping a record.
Do I need more resources (time, money, emotional support) to accomplish this goal?
One indicator that you might need more resources to accomplish a goal is if you’re struggling to get started. If it feels like you’re pushing against an immovable object, this means that there’s something holding you back.
You may need more time and emotional support or maybe even money. Some goals may require funds that we don’t have at the moment.
Do I believe that it’s possible to accomplish this goal?
Another indicator of whether you can achieve a particular goal is if there are roadblocks and limitations in your mind. If you don’t think that something is possible, then nothing will ever change for the better.
You need to challenge those limiting beliefs and replace them with positive ones about what you’re capable of doing.
You can also combat these negative thoughts with the help of a coach or someone you confide in. Sometimes all it takes is the assurance from others and maybe a new perspective.
Do I need help from others (friends/family)?
It’s difficult to know when you need help from your friends and family in order to accomplish a goal. If you have a lot of time, then it might be best to do a hard task. That’s because harder tasks tend to take up more time. If you don’t have much time, then it’s better to do an easier task.
To help you decide if you need help from others, think about these three things:
1. how much time do I have to complete my goal?
2. how difficult is the task that I’m trying to complete?
3. am I able to take on any more tasks right now?
If you don’t have a lot of time, then ask someone else to help. If you have enough time and it isn’t too hard, you might not need help.
How to achieve your goals consistently
The first step is to set an achievable goal. Find out what you are the most passionate about and make your goal based on that. Don’t try to please everybody, be selfish!
Now once you know what you want to do with your life, make a plan of attack. Figure out what you need to accomplish first before moving on to anything else.
For example, if your goal is to start a new business then figure out the costs to get started. Once that is figured out, then you can move on with other aspects of starting a business.
Don’t forget to think about other steps you need to take. For example, you might not have enough money for supplies or inventory. Planning ahead can help save you a lot of heartache and stress.
Once you figure out your plan, its important to have people around you that will support you in this effort.
Having good mentors can help tremendously when starting something new. So don’t be afraid to ask for advice from those who are more experienced than you! With their guidance, I am sure that the rest should fall into place.
Set realistic goals
Setting goals is an important step in life. But it’s also important to make sure the plan you create will get the result you want.
If I told you my goal was to be president of the USA tomorrow, this would not be possible. There would never be enough time or resources available for me to work towards such a lofty goal!
Achieving a goal can be hard, but it’s worth the work. Setting realistic goals will make you feel accomplished when you’re done!
SMART goals are specific. They state what you want to achieve, where, and when.
The SMART acronym stands for the following: Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time-based
This is a helpful way to make it easier to know what you need to do. It helps you know what you should be doing and in which order.
What does SMART stand for?
M (Measurable) – A goal should be easy to measure, like “I will walk at least 10k steps a day.”
A (Attainable) – Goals should not be too difficult to complete as that may lead to discouragement and failure. I might want to lose 50 pounds in a month, but that’s not possible. It is hard to lose 50 pounds in such a short time.
R (Realistic) – Goals should be within the realm of reality for a particular person or company. If someone wanted to earn $1 million this year and they make $30,000 a year now, that’s probably not realistic.
T (Time-Bound) – Goals should have a specific time frame in order to be completed. Like, “I will lose 20 pounds by June”. This helps hold you accountable for the goal and makes it clear when you want it done by.
If you set out to achieve your goals by following these rules, you are more likely to succeed. There is nothing stopping you from accomplishing what you want!
How to start a goal journal
A great way to keep track of your goals is to write them down in a journal. Then you can see how far you have come towards achieving them.
What should my Goal Journal include?
Your goal journal needs to have enough space for at least three things:
- A place where you write down what you want to achieve on that day or week
- The reasons why these particular goals are important and meaningful to you
- How much progress have you made on a daily basis.
If you want to start exercising, then in the third section write ‘I worked out today’ or ‘I did not work out.’
You need to be specific about what you want to achieve in your journal. This will help you keep track of these goals and make sure that you know what they are. It may also make you more motivated to work on them.
For example, don’t just write “I want to go running”. Rather write, “I would like to run three times a week for twenty minutes each time”. This way you will know whether or not these goals are realistic.
A tip is that if something takes less than five minutes it does not count as a task. So, do not write it down on your list of tasks. If you have a list full of small tasks, it will be hard to see which are the most important.
Why should I keep this journal?
You should write down your goals in a journal. That way, you will be more motivated to achieve them.
It is also a good way to track your progress. Sometimes, you might not be motivated and it will feel like something has been achieved.
Writing down tasks and goals every day will make sure that everything gets done. It also prevents you from putting off doing the task or goal.
A journal is a great place to write down any ideas you might have. It doesn’t matter if the idea seems important or not, just put it in your journal.
You never know when inspiration will come. If you have your goal journal nearby, then there will always be a place to put your thoughts.
How goals can impact self-esteem
Goals are an important part of self-esteem. They provide the motivation to work towards something. This in turn provides a sense that one has some control over their own life. Goals often give people a feeling of accomplishment and success.
These feelings can lead to increased esteem for themselves and others around them. All of this simply means more happiness in life.
People who are unsure about their life have low self-esteem. This happens because they are not sure who they are or what they want to do with their lives.
Additional tips and strategies to setting and achieving goals
The following are some additional tips and strategies to take when setting goals and achieving success:
Never underestimate the power of visualization
People often underestimate the power of visualization when setting goals. Some people think that when you visualize a goal, you are lazy. But this is not true. In reality, if you see what you want and don’t do anything to get it, that is called laziness.
Visualizing a goal is essential in achieving success because it gives you something concrete to focus on and work for. When you visualize your goal, there’s no room for confusion or doubts.
Focus on continuous improvement over perfection
One of the keys to successfully achieving your goals is to focus more on continuous improvement rather than seeking perfection.
If you’re always thinking about what you did wrong, then you’ll never notice the progress that you have made.
It’s important to keep in mind that no one achieves success overnight and that everyone has their own personal struggles. Focus on accomplishing small steps rather than trying to make big changes all at once.
The little things that you do each and every day will add up over time. The most important thing is to be consistent, dedicated, and open-minded when it comes to your goals.
Identify the obstacles to success and develop a plan to overcome them
Obstacles to success can come in many forms, but the most common ones are:
1. Fear and procrastination: if you’re afraid or refuse to take risks, you’ll never get anywhere. Eliminate these fears and start doing things.
Fear and procrastination are both obstacles to success. You might be afraid of failing, which causes you to avoid the things that will lead you to success. Or maybe you’re just lazy and comfortable with where you are, so you don’t do anything.
There are lots of ways to overcome fear and laziness, but it starts with recognizing them for what they are. If you can identify these two obstacles in your life, then start taking action. Start by asking yourself why you’re afraid or lazy. Once you know the root cause, then start taking steps to fix it.
2. Time: we only have so much time in one day. We need to be efficient and do things that help us succeed. Remember that not every goal needs immediate attention and that not all goals need equal time invested into them.
Every successful person has a common trait: they’re able to manage their time effectively. If you can’t even figure out which tasks take priority over others, then you’ll never be able to achieve success.
Start by identifying your most important tasks for each day or project; these are the tasks that will contribute most to your goals. Then, do them first and cross them off of your list so you know exactly what needs to be done.
It’s all about managing your time well so you can accomplish the things that really matter to you.
3. Bad habits: give yourself permission to indulge if need be, but don’t overindulge. Set limits for yourself and stick to them!Bad habits can stop you from reaching your goals.
If this is true for you, you should make a plan to overcome them. Share your struggles with the people who are closest to you and ask for help when you need it.
If you need help, there are plenty of resources out there, so don’t be afraid to reach out.
Every day that you don’t do something that makes you feel bad or guilty about it, celebrate and be happy! Your mindset will change overtime. Just be patient with yourself.
4. Lack of motivation: be a visionary of your future self. Visualize your best self and then try to bring that person into fruition through the actions you take every day!
It can be hard to stay motivated when you are trying to achieve a goal. If you want to be motivated, try imagining how good life will be after achieving your goal. Then, do things that will help you get there!
One way to do this is by thinking about how you will be in five, ten, or even twenty years. What would you want for your future self? How much success would you want?
Another way to stay motivated is to write a letter from your future self. You can read it often to remind yourself as to why you’re making these changes.
Self-accountability is essential when pursuing your goals. However, it is often difficult to set these goals without having someone in your life to support your efforts. It is important to think about the people in your life and how they might help you with your goals.
When considering other people as a support system, make sure that those people care about your success. If possible, it might be helpful to have multiple people in your life who will support you. That’s because each individual will bring their own unique perspective and advice.
Accountability groups are very common among those who are trying to achieve certain goals. These groups can be found on social media platforms and regularly meet together in person, as well.
Joining an accountability group is a great way to have multiple people supporting your efforts at achieving success.
An accountability group will help keep you accountable by holding you responsible for any missed meetings or deadlines. The group can help offer advice and insight as to how they have overcome similar challenges in the past.
They will also be able to provide encouragement, motivation, and inspiration when you need it most.
Accountability groups are a great way for those who want support but don’t know where to start looking. By joining a group, you can achieve results faster and with less effort.
Keep your goals nearby at all times
It’s important to review your goals on a regular basis in order to make sure you’re on the right track.
It’s important to keep your eyes on the prize. If your goal is to lose weight, keep focused on the end result. Think about how great you’ll look and feel without the extra weight.
Imagine the feeling of confidence and pride that comes with achieving this goal. You could even think about how much better others perceive you.
This feeling of accomplishment will likely inspire you to continue setting and reaching your goals, which is a good thing!
Give yourself a simple yet effective reward system
A reward system is a great way to encourage someone to achieve their goals. The options for rewards are limitless. Rewards are things that you get when you reach your goal. They can be little, like a favorite snack. Or they can be big, like a vacation with your family.
This type of system helps make reaching your goals simple – achievable even! If you have a dream, there is nothing stopping you from achieving it. Just take it one step at a time and don’t give up!
Create strategic habits that will work for you
There are some habits that you can establish that will help you achieve any goal that is difficult. For instance, you might want to exercise more but can’t find the time. If so, then try making an exercise routine for when you wake up.
This could be as simple as dancing to your favorite song as soon as you jump out of bed! This small change in behavior may give you just enough momentum throughout the day to work towards bigger goals too.
You need to create habits and routines that work with your schedule. They should be things that you can do often because you like them.
For example, a great way to make sure you get enough exercise is to create a routine. Start by setting up an alarm on your phone. This will remind you when it’s time to exercise. Let the routine be nice and simple. There’s no need to overcomplicate this.
Create the right environment around yourself
It is also a good idea to have reminders around the house. Examples are sticky notes on the bathroom mirror or a motivational poster next to your bed. This will help you remember what you are working towards.
These help by reminding us of why we are working so hard, and what will happen when we get there. Rewards, habits, and creating the right environment around you can all help you stay on track with your goals.
You can try adding some of these strategies into your daily routine. You might be surprised at how much they can help you.
Adjust your plans as needed based on circumstances and feedback
When you set goals, be realistic about what you can do. If the situation changes, then you will need to change your plans so that you can still achieve your goals.
Planning is important for reaching a goal. If you need to make changes, it’s okay. Sometimes there is another way that will help more than the first one. If people give feedback about your plan and say it won’t work, then you should change your plan. Look at what people say and see what you can do instead.
However, if you’re not sure what to do, just take time to think about it. Look at all the feedback and figure out what is best for your goal. Then make the changes you need to make!
Seek out positive people who support you and your dreams
It is hard to find people who will help you and support your dreams. But it is worth the effort. It’s important to make connections with others and get involved in projects that will strengthen your relationship with them.
Seek out like-minded people and get involved in projects that connect you to these people. Keep an eye out for any local groups or meetups where you can find these sorts of people.
If you would rather talk to people over the internet, try joining an online support network. You can still be confident and happy even though you are talking on the internet.
What is the one thing that you can do TODAY to move you closer towards your goal?
One thing you can do today is to just start working on a goal that you’ve been putting off. Even if it’s just for five minutes, it’ll help to break the cycle of procrastination.
Even if you don’t finish the task, after five or fifteen minutes, you will feel accomplished. The other thing that can help with breaking your procrastination cycle is by separating your tasks into micro goals.
Instead of tackling a huge goal at once, do it in parts. Make each part 15 minutes long. Doing so will make it easier and less stressful. Seeing progress from one small task to another is a great way to motivate yourself.
